Thomas Leavey, and john C.Tyler of California, first founded the first Farmers Insurance company in California.British American Tobacco Industries wished to merge with this industry in 1988 but the proposal was rejected by the Insurance Group.But in 1989, they again allowed the B.A.T.financial group to acquire them.It was named as Zurich Financial Group then.
In 2000, it again merged with Foremost Corporation that was engaged in manufacturing boats and vehicles.
Today there are several policyholders in U.S.because, when the Hurricane Rita invaded the different regions of U.S., most of the farmers in U.S.had created policy.Most of them received compensation from the insurance company.In the year 2005 and 2006, it bagged the award for customer service excellence.
It is only the company that provides excellent facilities to its customers.The company has arranged for a bus facility for its customers who wish to file a complaint against their services.They perform many other functions such as damage claims, excavation cost, lodging and meals etc.
