The constellation PISCIS AUSTRINUS, The Southern Fish, depicts a fish lying on its
back and apparently drinking the water that flows from the urn of
Aquarius.
It has been suggested that it represents a parent of the fish PISCES.
However, it is probably best known for its lucida, Fomalhaut, which is the
brightest star in that particular part of the sky. As such, it became known
in ancient Mesopotamia as one of the Royal Stars or "heavenly watchers" which
helped to mark the seasons.
